The first common practice connection from the Croatian port of Rijeka and Enns in Austria was launched final month.
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI)’s strategic associate in Croatia, Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT), made the announcement this week.
“For the first time ever, major Austrian shippers can be directly connected by rail to AGCT in Rijeka, providing a valuable alternative route with reliable transit times,” mentioned Emmanuel Papagiannakis, AGCT chief govt officer.

The first practice for Container Terminal Enns (CTE) departed from Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) on November 11.
Maersk Line operated the block practice whereas CD Cargo Adria offered rail companies.
“Following the first ever direct trains to the Czech Republic in May, the Austria connection further adds to a growing network of regular weekly block trains,” in response to Papagiannakis.
