“If you read the national security strategy, it talks about climate – I think it says it is an ‘existential challenge’ of our time, and so, this creates incoherence and lack of consistent prioritization,” Gallagher stated. “And it leads someone like John Kerry to advocate against the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, because he knows that solar panels subcomponents are built with slave labor in China.”
“So I think that sort of competition between the two camps in the Biden administration explains a lot of their policy incoherence,” he added.
